This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Basobaas (A product of Basobaas Nepal Pvt. Ltd) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the https://basobaas.com/ website (“Site”) and the Basobaas mobile applications. This privacy policy applies to the Site, the mobile applications, and all products and services offered by Basobaas.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways in connection with activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site, such as when a User registers for an account, posts a property listing, verifies their phone number, or sends an inquiry. This information may include a User's name, email address, phone number, and property listing details. Users may visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities, such as posting a listing or contacting another User.

Information from Facebook Login

If a User chooses to sign in or register using “Login with Facebook” (available on our Site and in our mobile app), Facebook shares the following information with us, with the User’s permission, through the Facebook Login permissions we request: public_profile (name and profile picture), email (email address), and, where available and granted, phone number. We use this information solely to create and authenticate the User’s Basobaas account, to pre-fill their profile, and, in the case of phone number, to verify the account and to allow other Users to make contact regarding a listing. We do not request or receive a User's Facebook friends list, posts, or any Facebook data beyond these permissions. A User may revoke Basobaas's access to their Facebook data at any time from their Facebook account settings, and may request deletion of any Facebook-sourced data as described under “Data Deletion Requests” below.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience, including cookies placed by Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

Purposes for which we process your data

We process the personal and non-personal information described above only for the following purposes:

To create and manage a User's account and let them sign in, using their name, email, phone number, and, where applicable, information received through Facebook Login.
To verify listings and inquiries and to prevent fraud or spam, using phone number and OTP verification data, or a phone number received via Facebook Login.
To operate the property marketplace, using listing information to publish and display property listings, and using contact details so that interested buyers, sellers, tenants, or landlords can reach one another.
To respond to inquiries and facilitate communication between Users.
To maintain, secure, and improve the Site, using technical and usage data collected through Google Analytics.
To measure and deliver advertising on Facebook and Instagram, using data collected through the Meta Pixel.
To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Use.
To communicate with Users about their account, transactions, or the Service, and, only with consent where required, for promotional purposes.

We do not process personal data for any purpose other than those listed above without first updating this Privacy Policy.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.
